中：我們團隊這次的研究對象黃耀如老師傅是一位很特別的老者，而木匾製造這個行業也是我們之前未曾接觸過的，六十多年的傳統技藝不容懷疑，但他在我們的媒體上並不出名，原因就是他低調的性格。與他同時期的藝師早就登錄在臺南市文化局的傳統技藝保存者，但黃耀如卻不肯，因為他覺得「太麻煩了！」他並不在乎出名這件事～
他說：「現在工作就已經做不完了，如果讓他們廣告下去，大家都要我幫他做，我也做不來！」我們想：這也是事實，目前臺南地區能從寫雨開始到匾額完成，一貫化作業的也就只有南輝木匾雕刻處了，即使他沒有在媒體上、網路上有很多介紹及名氣，凡是行家要製作匾額也一定都知道這兒。

The traditional skills of more than 60 years cannot be doubted, but he is not reported in our media. the reason is his low-key character. Other craftsmen, his contemporaries, had long been registered with the traditional craftsmen of the Tainan Cultural Bureau, but Huang Yao ru refused because he felt that it was "too much trouble!" He did not care about this famous thing~
He said: "The work I have now is already more than I can handle. If you let them go advertise me, everyone will ask me to make plaques for them, and I can't do it!" We think: This is true. At present, the only place that can make plaques from start to finish, from calligraphy to finishing the carving and painting, is Nanhui Plaque Carving Shop. Even if he does not get advertised on the media and on Internet, he still gets found by all the connoisseurs.
中：不說大家不知道，前幾年全省保存清朝古書院中規模最大且最完整的高雄鳳山鳳儀書院，由高雄府重新整修後重啟門扉，大車口掛著的四個大字「鳳儀書院」四個大字的匾額即出自黃耀如之手，臺南有名的莉莉水果店，遊名到這兒必訪，店裡的各項木雕作品，也都由黃耀如老師傅設計製作。
英：Not to mention that a few years ago, the largest and most completely preserved Qing Dynasty academy, the Fengxiong Academy in Kaohsiung, was refurbished by the Kaohsiung City Government and the front plaque hung in front of the carriage entrance, the four characters ‘Feng yi Shu Yuan’ came from the hands of Old Master Huang. The famous Lily Fruit Shop in Tainan, that almost everyone visits when they come to Tainan, has a collection of carved objects by Master Huang Yao ru.
中：在這本府城道教廟宇文物集(已絕版)裡，列出了府城二三百年來有名的匾額，其中在民國後的部份就有很多是黃耀如老師傅的作品，我們團隊請老師傅指出哪些匾額是他做的，因為他自己的字自己認得。事實上，他的作品遍及東南亞各國，對岸大陸、新加坡、馬來西亞…甚至美國有一艸藏傳佛教的寺院都慕名而來，請他做匾。
英：In the book Old Tainan City Taoist Temple Collection (out of print), the famous plaques of Fucheng in the past two or three hundred years are listed. Among them, many of the works from the post-Republic of China period are the works of Huang Yaoru, and our team asked the master to point out which plaques are made by him, because he can recognize his own writing. In fact, his works are found throughout Southeast Asia, on the other side of the Taiwan Strait, in Singapore, Malaysia...even a Tibetan Buddhist temple in the United States has sent people here to ask him to make them a a plaque.
中：黃耀如老師傅的作品，除了製作木匾之外，也有許多木雕作品，或是奇木雕刻…他的作品數量及範圍多到無法完整地歸納，我們團隊這次對他的研究也顛覆了我們原本對大師這個詞的看法，我們不需要問他有沒有參加什麼比賽，得過什麼獎項，真實在我們眼前的老人身懷高超的技藝，但在網路上或媒體上卻沒沒無名，我們很慶幸這次能找到這位隱藏版的傳統工藝大師，而如同黃媽媽說的，黃老師傅過去曾多次拒絕媒體採訪報導，也對市政府傳統技藝保存登錄沒興趣，這次的機會是專屬忠義國小的小朋友團隊！

Our team’s research on him has also subverted our original view of the word ‘master’. We do not need to ask if he has participated in any competition, what awards he has won. The old man in front of us have superb skills, but you cannot find his name on the Internet or in the media. We are very glad that we could find the hidden version of the traditional craft master in Master Huang, and as Mrs. Huang(daughter-in-law) said, Master Huang has repeatedly refused media coverage in the past, and he is not interested in being on the list of government’s preservation of traditional skills. This time the opportunity is exclusively for the group of children from JongYi Elementary School.
