4.對於您的作品現在這麼受歡迎，您覺得為什麼？
Why are your works so popular now ?
林玉泉老師：我自己這樣認為啦：一句話，因為「實在」！我們製作的刺繡，非常強調「品質」。還有，第二點就是我們繡莊的態度誠懇、老實，最重要的是親切感「嘴甜一點，說好話」，當顧客來繡莊時，我們會先與他們溝通再構圖，了解顧客的需求，把他們當成家人，讓他們擁有安全感，待他們欣賞我們的創作後，再進一步討論買賣事宜。

Lin:I think it is just ”certain”.en we make embroidery, we always keep higher standard of quality. Second is the attitude with sincere and  honest.The most importance is friendly attitude with sweet language. When customer comes to our workshop, we will discuss about the structure detailed and understand what they need. I always see them as my family .Let them feel safety,The cost is set at last after they approve for my creation.

 

5.時代進步，電腦科技取代人力，請問林玉泉老師是否知道「電腦刺繡」的現況，對手工刺繡產生什麼影響？你覺得手工刺繡是否會沒落？您對這門技藝未來的發展之路的看法？
The manpower is replaced by computer technology becomes common in recent years.Do you know the status of computerized embroidery. What impact of  manual embroidery?Do you think that manual embroidery will disappear?How do you think about this skill in the future?
林玉泉老師：我先跟你們說電繡與電腦刺繡的區別，其實電繡仍是手工，電腦刺繡真的就機器化，但是統一規格，較無人情味，我感覺「有經驗的手工，才是最夯」，雖然這幾年手工刺繡不像二十年前那麼風行，但也絕對不會沒落！因為這是台灣傳統技藝，傳統蘊含著文化，而且，台灣長久以來民間信奉道教，以宗教為主要儀式，舉凡拜拜、祭祀盛會皆需要，因此手工刺繡仍有一定市場需求。
如果談到未來，在我有生之年一定會繼續加油，栽培下一代，傳承刺繡文化，更希望能青出於藍。(阿泉師爽朗的笑著回答)

Lin:First, you should understand the difference between electrical embroidery and computerized embroidery.In fact, electrical embroidery is still by manual.computerized embroidery is made automatic.
Bothe of them are always kept same standard without human feeling.I think that experienced manual embroidery is the best.Although manual isn’t so fashion in recent years.But it’s never lost.
Because this is Taiwan traditional skill. It contains culture and the belief Taiwan is Taoism for a long time ago embroidery it made for religion.
Any religious ceremony need embroidery,so manual embroidery still have bound demand.
The future In my life, I’ll keep working, I want to teach next generation,inherited embroidery.
Hope my apprentice will be better for me.(Mr. reply with shinny smile.)

6.面對大陸的低價市場，您會有什麼防備措施？
Facing low price impact from China, do you take any cations?
林玉泉老師：這幾年來大陸的市場開放，衝擊很大，因為價格只有台灣的三成左右，很多繡莊自己不繡，都進貨大陸的低價品來賣，不過那種低價刺繡品品質較差。咱正港的臺灣人對於刺繡的要求是很高的，需要品質佳，價位雖然高些（大部份都是工錢，佔90%），但是臺灣人普遍能接受，「手工，才是最好的！」，手工、內容和技法決定價錢高低，一分錢一分貨，對於大陸的商品挑戰，我是沒什麼擔心的。
英文：Lin:For these years, I feel strong impact from China. Because the price of China is only 30% of ours.
Many workshops don’t make any more and directly buy lower cost works from China.But the quality of low cost works is not good.Real Taiwanese always asks for higher standard and quality.Although the price of Taiwan is higher (90% is labor costs), but it is still accepted by most Taiwanese."Manual embroidery is always best"!
The price is decided by manual operation, contents and skills.The higher the price, the better the quality of the merchandise.So I don’t worry with the challenge from China.

7.林老師您是「臺繡大師、府城老繡才」，請問臺繡的特殊風格是什麼？與「閩繡」有什麼不同呢？
Lin you are ”Grandmaster of embroidery in Tainan” What is Taiwanese embroidery special style?what is the difference between Taiwanese embroidery and Fujian embroidery?
林玉泉老師：臺繡的源始是從福建傳過來，這項工藝進來後，我們在手工、內容和技法都往精緻，亮度高，圖騰較為豐富的方向不斷發展，在原本的傳統技法加上特殊訓練（金蔥與銀蔥的使用）……而且，就一件作品的鱗片、盤纏繡和蔥線皆可見到技術進化的端倪。而且世界各國的刺繡都是平面（包含閩繡也是平繡），大陸原本刺繡盛行，應該要更豐富才對，無奈歷經文化大革命後，許多有價值的作品與工法失傳，現在反而是以臺灣刺繡成為主流。十年前，曾有四川的教授做刺繡研究，反而來研究我們這兒的刺繡工法。
英文：Lin:Taiwanese embroidery is from Fujian embroidery.Afterwards,our contents、skills was exquisite and light higher, and pattern was rich.Using another material can find the skill advancement.Any country embroidery is flat (include Fujian embroidery).
The embroidery was popular, but after Cultural Revolution, many works and skills are lost.Now  Taiwanese embroidery is mainstream.10 years ago one Sichuan professor is coming to study embroidery ，but he studies our embroidery skills.

8.請問現在您的作品呈現的刺繡風格，與傳統的臺繡一樣嗎？還是您加入新的刺繡風格呢？是哪些呢？
Your embroidery and Taiwanese embroidery are equally ?Or you put in new style in the works? Which are those?
林玉泉老師：人家問我這個，我都要舉美女林志玲來作例子，她這麼漂亮，但是要從一形：就是整體形狀、外形；二體：棉花成形（棉花、蔥線）；三色：色彩表現來看。我說的這三樣都是很講究的，也是我們的作品會這麼受歡迎的主要因素，而且我們都可以依不同的客戶需求做一些變化，像有的龍頭立體感高一點、低一點之類的…
英文：Lin:When other people ask me, I take other people from Miss Lin Chi-ling.Beautiful woks from beautiful shape 3D colorful works to show.Those factors are very important, that’s why my works are popular,And we can use those factors to change the customers requirement.
訪問阿泉師到這邊，他又一時興起要跟我們玩個小遊戲，看我們對八卦圖的了解正不正確，他隨手拿起筆在白紙上畫了幾個不同的圖，讓我們猜哪個才是正確的，他說「創新」固然很好，但有些規矩和禁忌還是要注意的，以這個例子來說：八卦圖是不能亂畫的（要順轉與擺正）
英文：At this time,Mr. Lin play a little game with us.He takes the paper and pen, and then he draw some different picture, then let us think which is true.He although “to innovate” is good, but respect some rules.
在這次採訪時，我們特地帶了我們學校的「開筆啟蒙禮T恤」，在我們的要求下，阿泉師當場在它上頭畫上「龍吐水」，邊畫邊說著：四爪是凡間的神明（王爺），五爪是天上神明（玉皇大帝、王母娘娘、瑤池金母），前爪大，後爪小，龍的肚子有「紅」（肚子有條線）。阿泉師說：臺灣人刺繡往往繡龍、鳳，象徵吉祥，雖然有些江湖術士表示不能穿繡有龍的衣物，但其實不然，可以穿的。
英文：In this visit,we take the our school’s T-shirt.We requisition Mr. Lin draw one dragon on the T-shirt.He said while painting:"four paws is for low order gods, five paws is higher gods.The front paws is big, the at the back pawsis small one wire on the dragon’s abdomen." .Although some religion man said ,he can’t wore have the dragon cloth, but he can wore it.
由於時間的關係，雖然我們還有許多問題沒問，我們與老師約定下次再找時間來訪問他，林玉泉老師開心地說「沒問題，隨時歡迎」
英文：Because we do not have enough time to ask more questions.But we have many questions aren’t get the answer.So we say next time we’ll visit him again ,Mr. Lin say “no problem, welcome evry one”.
